My study abroad trip to Spain allowed me to gain confidence in myself and in many different ways. I feel like I can take on new tasks or an adventure without any hesitation or concern. A great example is my move to Hawaii at the end of this February. I feel the move won't be too difficult as I know what to expect and have already had to learn to be comfortable in a new setting. The journey through Spain showed me that I would enjoy traveling for a career someday; and by career I mean I hope to be an International Sales Agent for an international company someday. Because I visited Spain, I know I would like to spend some vacation time in the near future traveling Europe as well as some other countries and continents. Below I listed various goals and plans I hope to achieve throughout my life, in addition to the positive impact I experienced due to my study abroad trip to Spain.
Future Endeavors
Because I visited Spain, I feel confident to do other things in life such as travel with a friend, move by myself to Hawaii, and find a suitable career for me. Furthermore, because I enjoyed Spain so much, I know I want to travel all throughout Europe someday and write a personal journal for myself in hopes of sharing it with family. I enjoy the Spanish language and because I do, I want to continue to use it as well as within my future career. I want to continue to practice the language and use it in times of when I travel as well. In addition, the next time I travel, I know I need to experience the journey with someone that I am close to and can spend a great deal of time with. I say this because it is hard to be with another person day-in day-out for a period of time. As I mentioned before, I love the culture of Spain and have high hopes that I will enjoy my new life in Hawaii, as the cultures can be somewhat similar. I look forward to studying Hawaii's history, culture and art as I know I enjoyed learning about Spain's. While in Hawaii, I want to expand my circle of friends and truly learn what it is like to live as an islander. In Spain, I spent most of my time creating new friendships, especially with the locals from Hawaii. It was a great experience and I got to learn a lot about Hawaii. Shortly now, I'll be living there and only hope to have a similar experience like the one I had in Spain. As far as a future career in Hawaii, I would like to be a sales agent or representative and for an international company. I would like to work for or within the medical field or industry, selling equipment or pharmaceutical's which will require additional schooling. If I have to do additional schooling in the future I will, just not at the moment. First I plan to get settled on the island and create new friendships. I look forward to seeing my friends who live as locals in Hawaii, as well as spending time reminiscing about our adventures together during the summer of 2015 in Salamanca, Spain.
